FAQ

Q: How should I store my matcha? What does the Best Before Date mean?

A: Matcha is sensitive to light, air, heat, and moisture — proper storage is key to preserving its vibrant colour, fresh aroma, and umami. The Best Before Date (BBF) is set by the manufacturer to indicate peak flavour and freshness.

  • Once your matcha arrives, store it in the fridge immediately, especially after opening.
  • Unopened matcha can be stored in the fridge, or in the freezer if you don’t plan to open it soon.
  • Opened matcha is best consumed within 1–2 months. For long-term storage, you may place it in the freezer a few days before the Best Before Date to help maintain quality.

Q: Can I combine two orders into one shipment?

A: Yes, we’re happy to help you consolidate your orders.

If you’ve already placed an order with shipping paid, please do the following:

  1. Place your second order using the “Pickup” shipping option (this will skip additional shipping fees).
  2. Email us at contact.us.somewhere@gmail.com or message us via Instagram @somewhere.sips with both order numbers and a request to combine them into one shipment.

If you’d like us to hold your order temporarily while you place another:

  1. Select the “Pickup” option at checkout.
  2. Email us right after with your order number and a request to hold it until your next order is placed.

We’ll take care of the rest and confirm once everything is merged and ready to go.

Q: Can I pre-order matcha before the next drop?

A: We currently do not accept pre-orders or deposits for matcha.

Our focus is on making each drop more consistent and fair for all customers. Given the limited nature of our restocks, we want to ensure everyone has a genuine chance to purchase their matcha without the pressure of reservations or pay-to-hold systems.

If you're interested in a particular product, you can share your interest through our Shape the Next Drop page — this helps us plan future restocks with your preferences in mind.
